Delaware Valley Council of Citizens with Low Vision on Such A Site.

About the origins of the Delaware Valley Council od Citizens with Low Vision, DVCCLV.

DVCCLV was founded by Sarita Kimble and Marsha Levy as a support group in the early 1980s.

Both having low vision, they discussed the unique issues encountered when one is visually impaired yet not blind. Almost immediately, they saw a true need for a place for people like themselves, to share their experiences, learn of alternative ways to do things, and to share all the resources they have found individually.

Meeting in Center City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, they grew in size and also in purpose.

in early February 1985, the group took a vote to become a local chapter of the Council of Citizens with Low Vision.

The measure passed without one dissention, and Sarita Kimble was voted in as President, with Glenda Such as Vice President.
